Dear visitor, assalamu alaykum and welcome to the Almadina College website. Our mission is double-edged: since its inception, Almadina has witnessed a genuine desire for knowledge and increased participation at all levels. The College is unwavering in its efforts to provide students with teaching that satisfies that desire. In turn, that breeds greater confidence in both learner and provider. Whether you wish to study part time or full time, at beginner or diploma level or simply interested in Almadina College and its activities, I hope you will find the website informative. The 'Social Cultural Calendar' will give visitors insight into Almadina's continuing participation inside and outside the College.

As a teaching institution, Almadina College is obviously mindful of meritocracy and achievement. However, alongside mental stimulation we are keen to see genuine spiritual development. It may be said that one necessitates the other. At all times I stress the importance of knowledge as the precursor to faith and fidelity. It is a light by which one distinguishes fact and understands sense-impression. Allah, Great and Glorious, says, '...Yet, verily, it is not their eyes that have become blind - but blind have become the hearts that are in their breasts!' [Al Hajj, 22:46]. The one who 'knows' possesses a light. But what is illuminated by knowledge? Allah, Great and Glorious, says, '...Of all His servants, those endowed with knowledge stand truly in awe of God: [for they alone comprehend that,] verily, God is almighty, much-forgiving'. [Al Fatir, 35:28]. Elsewhere, Safwan Ibn 'Assal related in Tradition that he came to our Prophet Muhammad, on him peace and best of salutations, and said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah! I came to seek knowledge. He replied: "Welcome knowledge seeker! Indeed, the Angels cover the knowledge seeker with their wings and pile on top of each other until they reach the lower Heaven - such is their love of his seeking knowledge."'
